๐ค I don't understand the pushback Apple is getting on the image generation tool called Image Playground. And I don't understand the pushback Apple is getting about the fact that they trained their model using data coming from their AppleBot web crawler engine that they've been known to using for quite some time now. I think it's overblown.
๐ I understand that some people might not like AI-generated imagery, like I understand that people might not like some icon styling or some photographic style like black & white photography. But then what? What they don't really like is the fact that those images were generated with AI? Again, computer-generated sounds that started many decades ago are created with a tool called the computer. Why is it different with imagery? Prompting an engine is being creative, and it is highly accessible, much more than having the talent to draw complex scenes.
๐ We are entering a new technological era, and it's going fast, maybe too fast, but something profound is really happening. We might not know where this will lead us. I understand the need for debates and discussions, but we better get used to it while trying to have open minds. Personally, I find this to be exciting and stimulating.
